Sculpting is my latest venture. These are a few examples of my very early efforts ....  all I can say, is, if you get the chance to have a go - GO FOR IT !!! 

Working with clay is a fabulous thing to do, very very tactile and totally absorbing.  Who cares if they look funny when they are finished ... they are my creations and I loved every second of their creation !

The figures are done from live models... in two hour sessions.     The elephants were created following a sketching day at the zoo ....  they were painted with acyrlics after the first firing.

The duck, well - she just happened. She too was painted with acrylics after the first firng ( so she's not shiny)

The seahorse was glazed and fired twice, then painted with acyrlics - to make it glisten after painting.
